Eating Healthy at Your Favorite Restaurants

After marrying my wonderful spouse 12 years ago, I gained nearly 10 pounds. Because I could no longer wear half of the clothes in my closet, I decided to change my eating habits. Losing weight seemed like a better idea than buying new clothes. Because my husband and I ate at our favorite restaurants a few times each week, I searched for ways to limit caloric intake while dining out. I began declining the bread basket offered by my servers. When ordering foods like shrimp, flounder, or chicken, I asked my server if I could have them grilled, broiled, or boiled. Most of the time, the restaurant staff was very understanding of my desire to have my food prepared differently than the menu options.
